2009/2010 KB Awards
KB celebrated the end of it's first season with an awards bash at Buffalo nightclub prior to a charity night to raise funds for the club.
MVP - Players Player of the Year
Offensive Player of the Year
Omar Zwawi
Omar earned the vote from his team mates as 2009/2010's Player of the Year with a host of incredible performances as well as clinching Offensive Player of the Year. Frustrated with his arsenal following a number of years away from the game Omar worked hard during pre season 2009 to improve on his jump shot. The hard work payed off as Omar spent most of the season bullying defenders both inside and outside on his way to the KB Scoring Title in 2009/2010.
Coaches Player of the Year
Aaron Freeman
Aaron got the nod from coach for helping resurrect KB after a coaching change saw the club change dramatically. Aaron took the point guard role and quickly led his unit to many big wins. Aaron put his body on the line twice for a KB win, firstly in a games against Cardiff Warriors where Aaron dislocated his shoulder diving for a loose ball, secondly against Cardiff Capitals where he blew out his ACL on a fast break. Any team would miss a 6'3'' point guard but KB missed Aaron's handle and jump shot just as much as his on court presence.
Defensive Player of the Year
Fung Chiu
Following a year sidelined with a finger injury at the Cardiff Capitals, Fung returned to the chemistry of his childhood basketball partners to become the glue that held KB together on court. Ultra reliable on the court Fung didn't have a single sub par performance during the season. Fung did the dirty work that every team needs taken care of, Fung cleaned the glass often coming up with rebounds against much taller opposition.
Outstanding Individual Performance
Mikey Hollifield
Mikey Hollifield has always been a gun, but his ability to knock down daggers led him to take the trophy for Outstanding Individual Performance in 2009/2010. Mikey returned to KB after a number of years away from the game and won at least two games with his clutch performances. Against Abervalley Mikey drained a game winning three pointer over the Hurricanes 6'8'' centre. Against Beddau Mikey ran the offense and racked up an assist and six points in the final minute to give KB the W.
Most Improved
Mitchell Reynolds
KB's youngest recruit came from Abervalley Hurricanes who had racked up just a hand full of victories in its two year existence. Unsure of his role or how to make the most of his natural gifts Mitchell quickly flourished under KB's system and turned into a valuable contributer on both ends of the floor. Mitchell's improvement was rapid and consistent and KB looks forward to further improvement from the future of the club.
20010/2011 KB Awards
KB celebrated it's second annual awards night at Charlestons Restaurant in Cardiff. Mal, Dai, Wes, Mikey Holifield, Mitch, Greg, Lloydy, Omar, Tim, Fung, Yoaan and Omars mate Dennis the Waiter came through to see the silverware handed out by Timmer Cowan, 2011 KB Captain.
The food was good with Gregg leading the charge with his £22 mixed grill, and Mitch forcing everybody to sip his Dirty Pint before he necked it (the Stella included some money, some candle wax courtesy of diesel, some pepper from Gregg, Vinegar from Timmy and some spit from Omar).
Most Improved Player
Nominations
Mal - who went from averaging 1 point per game and 5 rebound per game over the first three games of the season and had 16 points 9 rebounds 5 assists 3 steals and 9 blocks in the last league game of the season.
Mitch – Who led KB to a win over Merthyr with 20 points (shooting 64%) 9 rebounds 4 assists and a steal.

Wes – who travelled back from Florida to Ice Crickhowell making 6 of 6 free throws in the last minute of the game.
Mal – For his line at Beddau.
Mikey – for his shooting at Beddau where he sank three buzzer beaters.

Mal – who set new records in blocks in a game – with 9 and rebounds in a game with 17.

2011/2012 KB Awards
KB's 2012 awards were held at a training session at Michaelstone College on a Friday night. Awards were handed out by Omar Zwawi and were followed by a 3 point shooting competition and one on one competition.
Most Improved Player of the Year
Runner Up – Greg Thompson
Winner – who ended up second leading scorer with 10 points per game to go with a steal, two assists and three rebounds.
Josh Thomas
Defensive Player of the year
Runner Up – He led the team in rebounds with over seven a game and loves the dirty work.
Fung Chui
Winner – led the team in blocks with 1 and a half every game.
Matthew Newton
Offensive Player of the year
Runner Up – averaged 4 and half assists to go with his 8 and a half points per game while leading the team in Field Goal percentage.
Lloyd Davies
Winner – led the team in scoring with 15 and a half points per game.
David Moon
Outstanding Individual Performance
Runner Up – who dropped 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals against the Warriors in his first ever senior game is.
Josh Thomas
Winner – for dropping 5 steals, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 28 points on 76% shooting at Swansea.

After the awards were given out we set up the 3 point shooting competition.
The odds on favourite Timmy had a good round but his 9 points just weren't enough for Josh and Omar. Who scored 10 and 11 respectively (out of 20).
In the final Josh hit four of his money balls to score 14 in a minute.
Omar managed just 10 so Josh took his third trophy of the night.
In the one on one competition - in the match up we all wanted to see Lloyd beat Omar.
Josh mad it out the guard group losing to Omar. Magnus beat Wes in the final of the big men group.
Josh and Magnus faced off in the final but Josh was too much. Scoring the first 4 buckets and going on to win 5-1.
